Balance Sheet

What the business owns against what it owes and its capital, at the end of a day.

How to

  1. Accounts → Balance Sheet. Set To to the day you want the balance sheet for. From is where "Profit for this period" starts counting. Press Show.
  2. Capital and liabilities: capital with the profit, loans, what you owe suppliers, and tax payable.
  3. Assets: fixed assets, stock at cost, what customers owe you, cash and bank, and advances.
  4. The two Totals are equal. Click a figure to see what makes it up.
  5. Export Excel or Print / PDF for a copy.

Good to know

  • If opening balances don’t add up, the gap shows as "Difference in opening balances" under Capital. Add the missing opening balances (parties, cash and bank accounts, account heads) to clear it.
  • With one branch chosen, each branch balances on its own; "Between branches" is what one branch owes another. In All branches these cancel out.
  • Tax collected and tax paid are netted to one line: Tax payable or Tax claimable.
  • A checking statement from your own records, not statutory accounts.
