How to
- Accounts → Expenses. The first time, press Categories and + New category for each kind of spending (Rent, Travel, Salaries …). A category can carry Sub-categories and Payees (one per line) to suggest later.
- Press + New Expense. Choose the Category, then the Sub-category and Paid to — pick a suggestion or type a new one.
- Enter the Amount, the Currency, Paid by (Cash, Bank Transfer, Cheque, Card or Other) and the Account — the cash or bank account the money left from. Add a Bill / Reference and a Remark if you want.
- Attach the bill under Attachments, and press Save Expense.
- Back on the list, choose the Period (or From and To), filter by Category, Paid to or Paid by, and press Apply filters. Total spent, By category, By month and By payee sum up what the list shows.
Good to know
- Under Accounts → Account Heads, mark each category Direct (cutting, polishing, certification) or Indirect (rent, salaries, travel). Direct costs count before gross profit in the Profit & Loss.
- The Account must be one of your cash or bank accounts, so the expense shows in that account’s Cash & Bank Book.
- Many at once: Download Template, fill it in, and Import Excel. Check the rows it shows, then press Create … expenses to save the good ones.
- Export Excel downloads the list as filtered, with the columns in the order you arranged them.
