How to
- Accounts → Journal & Contra. Press + Journal for an entry between your account heads (capital, loans, fixed assets, other income …) and cash or bank. Press + Contra to move money between your cash and bank accounts.
- Check the Date and Branch at the top. Add a Reference if you have one.
- Each line is one Account with either a Debit or a Credit, and a Narration if you want. Press + Add line for more — the new line starts with the amount that still balances the entry.
- The total row shows Balanced when debits equal credits, or by how much they differ. It will not save until they are equal.
- Press Save Journal (or Save Contra).
Good to know
- A customer’s or supplier’s balance is changed with a credit or debit note under Payments & Notes, not with a journal — so Outstanding and their Ledger stay right.
- With more than one branch, a Contra line can be in another branch: cash sent from one branch to another is one Contra.
- Example: you bring ₹5,00,000 of your own money into the bank. Debit the bank account, credit Capital Account.
- Depreciation has no screen of its own: record it as a Journal.
- Many at once: Download Template, fill it in and Import Excel — rows with the same Ref become one voucher.
