How to
- Jewellery → Metal. + Metal In records metal you bought: Metal, Purity, Weight (g) and Rate / g. With a Supplier it is owed to them like a purchase; leave Supplier empty for metal you already hold.
- + Issue Metal gives metal to a Maker. + Metal Returned takes back what they did not use. Press Save.
- When the maker sends the jewellery, on Receive Jewellery set Metal from to Ours (issued to the maker) for that piece, and enter the Purity and Wastage %. Net wt × fineness, plus the wastage, comes off what the maker holds and adds to the piece’s cost.
- The tabs show Documents, Metal stock (fine owned, at hand and with makers, by branch) and With makers (Issued, Returned, In pieces, Settled and With them (fine g)).
- If a maker keeps metal and pays for it, With makers → Settle in money: enter the Fine grams and Rate per fine gram and press Make debit note.
Good to know
- Fine grams = weight × fineness (22K gold = 0.916), so 22K and 18K add up in one balance.
- Nothing can be issued that is not at hand, nor used or returned beyond what the maker holds.
- Purities lists the fineness of each purity. One already used can be switched off, not changed.
- Your metal is counted in closing stock at its average cost. Rates and values show only to users allowed to see cost.
- Import Excel fills the metal lines from a sheet (Excel template gives the columns).
